Need help finding an immigration record? Our researchers at the Scotiabank Family History Centre can help. Our staff use a variety of internal and external sources to locate immigration records, manifests and passenger lists.
Research Fees
The service costs $30 + tax per half hour, paid at the time of your request. After the initial 30 minutes of paid research is completed, the researcher will follow up with you to share what has been found and discuss additional research time. We cannot guarantee that the arrival record will be located in the initial half hour.
Copies of records are included in the research fee; they will be sent digitally. Printed records can be mailed for an additional postage and processing fee.
Due to a large volume of research requests, there could be a considerable delay before your request is assigned to a researcher. We appreciate your patience as we continue to diligently work through all inquiries. Inquiries will be responded to in the order that they are received.
In-person visits are not subject to a research fee, however copies of records are available for a record fee of $17.39 + tax.
While every effort is made by the researcher, the information may not be found. In cases where results are deemed unsatisfactory, refunds are not provided.

Arrived after 1935
Unfortunately, staff are not able to access Canadian immigration records for persons arriving after 1935. All records for arrivals after 1935 are held in Ottawa with the Department of Citizenship and Immigration and are not open to the public.
Even though we are unable to access the Canadian Arrival Records, there are some sources to find personal records for immigration after 1935.
