The Scotiabank Family History Centre does not have access to Second World War personnel files. Ocean crossings for military personnel are considered a military record and may be found within the military service file.
Library and Archives Canada holds military service files for those who served after 1918. Except for those who died in service during the Second World War, there is no online database for these records because of access restrictions.
To access the service files of a Canadian Armed Forces member who died in service, visit http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/war-dead/index-e.html
For all other military service files (1919-1997), including Second World War (not killed in action), access restrictions apply.
Visit http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/Pages/obtain-copies-military-service-files.aspx for more information on how to obtain military service files.
