Paying homage to flatbread from across the Asian continent, from the Middle East to Southeast Asia, Talk and Taste: Flatbreads of the World will bring five representatives from immigrant communities in Nova Scotia together to discuss and explore the shared yet distinct traditions of flatbread across cultures. The chefs will exchange insights on the cultural significance, historical roots, and evolving traditions of their flatbreads, followed by a public tasting. This event will highlight the rich diversity of culinary heritage, fostering dialogue on how food traditions unite communities while celebrating their unique flavours.

This event marks the launch of Season 6 of the Museum’s Countless Journeys podcast. What is Canadian food? This season, we serve up stories of how immigration is shaping Canadian cuisine.  From a friendly battle over jollof rice bragging rights to the surprising tale of Newfoundland chow mein, discover how food connects newcomers to their heritage, adapts to new tastes and strengthens communities.

In addition to the discussion and samples, your ticket also gives you exclusive access to our new exhibition, eat make share: a taste of immigration.
