“My life story would not have played out… if it wasn't for the kindness of these children on Peter Street”

Karl Subban, father of five, including former NHL star defenceman P.K Subban, tells the story of how he found community as a newcomer to Canada.

Karl Subban had just immigrated with his family from Jamaica to Sudbury. He feared being bullied or ignored because he was different. Now, the author, educator, retired school principal, and father of five (including star NHL defenceman P.K. Subban) tells how a simple invitation from a group of kids on his street lifted him up.
