In partnership with Alliance Française, the Museum is pleased to present playwright Nil Bosca’s play, Euphrate. The play is a touching, funny, and inspiring creation that deals sensitively with the themes of identity, cultural diversity, and migration.
Euphrate tells the story of an immigrant student at the end of high school as she tries to figure out her career while juggling the realities of her dual culture. Through funny and touching dialogue with her father, she revisits her memories and roots to better understand who she is and what she wants to become. The play speaks directly to young people who are questioning their identity, their future choices, and their place in society, with sensitivity and humour.
This activity integrates well with CSAP programs and French immersion classes from grades 9 to 12 in Nova Scotia, including:
- French (communication, reflection, oral comprehension)
- Citizenship and social studies
- Global competencies: empathy, critical thinking, inclusion, diversity, self-expression
