Artist-in-Residence 2025 - Prince Churchill

Food Memories: A Journey Through Two Homes

In support of our 2025 exhibition eat make share: a taste of immigration we were thrilled to host recent NSCAD graduate and chef, Prince Churchill. During his residency Prince worked on Food Memories: A Journey Through Two Homes, an illustrated recipe book that explores the remarkable adaptability of immigrant food cultures through his dual lens as a Haitian adoptee and professional chef in Nova Scotia. Prince created new works and collected over a dozen recipes.  He also hosted an amazing evening called Paint the Plate in which he helped 50 participants recreate a painting of his favourite dish, rice and beans.
