What is the donation process?
The Museum builds its collection by the donation of stories, oral histories, and other materials from public and private sources.
When an offer is received from a potential donor, the donor will be contacted by Museum staff for further information particular to the offer. Tangible items must remain with the donor until the acquisitions process is complete.
All prospective new acquisitions are reviewed by the Museum’s Collection Committee, which meets every four months.
If the committee accepts your donation, you will be contacted by Museum staff to complete the donation process. If the committee is unable to accept your offer, Museum staff may be able to provide advice to help you find another home for the item.
