Royal Canadian Medical Corps

We both went overseas in the spring of 1944 on a small troop ship which departed from Sydney NS and joined a convoy off Cape Breton which was on its way to England. I served with The Sherbrooke Fusilier Armoured Regiment in the liberation of Holland and was in Germany when the war ended.

My future wife Nursing Sister Eve Shepley served in the Canadian Army Hospitals in Colchester England, Belgium, and Holland.

Ernest C. Mingo came home to Canada on the Isle De France which arrived in Halifax in late October 1945.
