The Milcharek family arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia aboard the Frederik VIII on June 27, 1930.
Stefan, Rozalia, Adam and Anton Milcharek left Poland, sponsored by their daughter Sophie and her husband Anton Warelis of Ethelbert, Manitoba. They travelled by CNR train to Manitoba.
Once settled in the Ethelbert area, they built a life for their sons. Stefan, a carpenter by trade, built farm houses and barns. The boys went to work as farm labourers in Saskatchewan. In 1936, Stefan and Anton bought land in Ukraina, Manitoba.
Adam married Mary Wesbowetski on June 6, 1937 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. They made their home in Roblin, Manitoba and raised their five daughters there.
Rozalia passed away in 1939.
Anton married Cassie Kostyshen on May 2, 1943. They lived in Ukraina until 1948, then moved to Ashville, Manitoba. Anton and Cassie raised six children.
Stefan passed away in April, 1966.
Adam passed away in August, 1994.
Anton passed away in July, 2000.
