Walter H. Cooper

Walter Cooper was born in Ontario of British immigrants, but lived most of his life in British Columbia. He was left an orphan at the age of 6. He joined the armed services in 1940 in Kamloops B.C. He was at various training camps before going overseas in 1942. At the age of 27, he was billeted in Farmham, England a short train ride from London. I (Florence Cooper) met him in 1942. WE courted for about 3 years before marriage. We also had a son in England. After the war, my husband stayed behind in England to work on the clubs that had been taken over by the Canadians. He finally left for his home in March of 1947. So he put in about 7 years with the army. AS an engineer he served in Europe, Holland, Belgium and Germany and was given 5 medals. So as his warbride wife, I feel very proud to have been a part of his life. His serial # was Private K99146.
