The Willem N. Stokdijk Family

Anna and Willem Stokdijk first set foot on Canadian soil at Pier 21, Halifax. They got off the train in Belmont, Colchester County while most of the immigrants were on the train for days, going to Ontario or out west. They settled in the Truro area and with hard work established a greenhouse business. They have a business relationship with Sobeys stores. Their tomatoes and cucumbers are in high demand because of their excellent quality. They are now retired and their son runs the business.

This brick was bought as a gift on the occasion of Anna's 80th Birthday on October 31, 1999. She wanted to honour her children and her husband for his dedication.
