Salvatrice Novello

My mother arrived, a single young woman travelling alone on the Vulcania, coming from a small Sicilian Town. Her mother was left widowed at the age of 53, to raise 5 young daughters in a very strict environment. My mother being the only one left single decided to start a new life and venture alone to Toronto, Canada. Her name is Salvatrice Novello and arrived June 13, 1955 in Halifax.

My father arrived in Canada, a single young man also to start a new life. He brought over seven other younger siblings and his parents. He helped support them all and started new lives for them in Toronto, Canada. His name was Michele Caccavella and arrived March 13, 1956 in Halifax.
