Peter and Helena (Dyck) Peters along with their three sons Isaac 12, Jacob 8, and Gerhard 6, immigrated to Canada in 1925. They left their home in Romanowka, Ukraine and travelled to Berlin where they boarded the Marburn on April 14th for the journey to Canada. Upon arrival in Quebec City on April 26th they travelled to Winkler, Manitoba. In 1933 the family moved to Kitchener, Ontario.

In August of 1942 Isaac married Alice Rempel of Waterloo and soon after moved to the Niagara area – first to Jordan, then to Niagara-on-the-Lake and finally in 1958 they settled in St. Catharine’s. They raised 2 children and have 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In December 1943 Jacob married Katherine Bartels of Hespeler and they lived their entire life in the Kitchener area while in later years enjoyed their second home in Yuma, Arizona. They raised 4 children and have 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In October 1946 Gerhard married Jean Gehl of Kitchener and they resided in Kitchener before moving to the Hamilton area. In 1956 they moved to Dallas, Texas. They have raised 4 children and have 1 grandchild.

This information is given in memory of our grandparents who endured many hardships in order to provide a better life for us all.
