Maria Nielsen, Son Eric

I was 9 years old when my mother, my maternal grandmother and I arrived in Canada. Our ship departed Cuxhaven, Germany with a stop at Lehavre, France and arrived in Halifax on March 28, 1949. After processing we departed by train to join my father who was already in Canada (10 months earlier). Our first home in Canada was on Hwy 129 in Ontario, about 40 kilometres north of Thessalon. I now reside in Victoria, BC having lived in 7 provinces and having slept in all of them.
