John Kiss

Born in Parac, Romania on April 21, 1927. Departed from Bremen, Germany on July 27, 1937 aboard the SS Breman to Halifax. This ship was diverted to New York instead as it was unable to get into Halifax harbour. From New York, John travelled to Kitchener, Ontario (through Niagara Falls), arriving on August 2, 1937. He was married to Francisca Stil on September 17, 1955 and has lived in Kitchener to the present.
