Johannes and Trijntje Velthuizen

Johannes and Trijntje, also known as Hans and Tena, were married June 19, 1952 in Doorn, Netherlands, and left three weeks later to immigrate to Canada. The trip went well, but Trijntje was sick for most of the trip; even the smell of food was too much for her. They arrived at Pier 21, Halifax, Nova Scotia in early August 1952 and took a train to Edmonton, Alberta arriving August 11, 1952 where they settled down and raised a family of seven children.
