Jan Vanden Bosch

Arrived at Pier 21 in February 1930 at the age of 21, looking for a new life and challenge. Left Rotterdam by ship and came first to New York and then onto Pier 21 in Halifax. The ship was The Nieuw Amsterdam. From Halifax went onto Montreal, then Toronto by train. He worked in the Cambridge (then called Galt) for a few years and then settled in Eastern Ontario. His farming years were in Perth and Chesterville, Ontario. He established a very successful farming operation which continues to operate now by his son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons.
