Bronislawa Kowalewski and Parents

On July 27, 1952, at 17 years of age, Bronislawa Kowalewski arrived at Pier 21 with her father (Bronislaw Kowalewski) and her mother (Konstancja Kowalewski, nee Lojko). Originally from Poland, the war weary trio had survived a Russian work camp in Siberia and British refugee camps in Uganda and Kenya, finally making their way to England and then to Canada.
