Bill Shaw, wife Kaye and Family

Ken (28), Margaret (28), Lynn (4), Hazel (3) and Kevin (1) Shaw arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia aboard the Georgic on April 26, 1952 on Kevin's first birthday. We sailed from Southampton on April 19, 1952. Our Mum was quite sic for the first few days. On the fifth day we sailed through a terrible storm and the Nursing sister couldn't understand that Mum was not sick then but seasoned sailors were. We saw food that we had never seen like corn on the cob and fruits not common in England like bananas. Our baby brother Kevin started to walk aboard ship and couldn't walk on dry land for a couple of days, He must have missed the roll of the ship. We met many nice people form other parts of England, Germany and Holland We landed with $160.
