Margaret Adu, Honorary Consul Ghana and former president of the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Calgary arrived in Alberta in 1993. Margaret is an award winning architect. She’s the founder and managing director of Aomega Group Inc.—a group of local personal care homes. In 2010 she received the Ghanaian Canadian Achievement Award for Community Service and in 2013 she was nominated for the Black and Gold Award for her community and business efforts, in 2014 she won the Immigrants of Distinction Award.
Soft Landing is a project curated by Ian Keteku which showcases the words and stories of prominent living Canadians who’ve immigrated from another country. These individuals have contributed to Canadian society in meaningful ways. They’ve excelled in areas of entrepreneurship, environmentalism, science, and community activism.
The project is funded by the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21
