How do we learn about the past? How do historians unravel history? In this workshop students will take on the role of history detectives, using artefacts and documents as they work collaboratively to unravel an immigration case study from Canada’s rich past.
Do you have what it takes? Students will learn and practice proper artifact handling techniques by examining museum objects. By examining case documents they will hone their investigative skills as they look for evidence and clues. Sources will be evaluated; motives, biases, and stereotypes will be examined as detective squads work to piece their case together.
