The latest installment of the Museum’s flagship narrative-arts series, Canada's Storytellers, will feature author Halina St. James and the extraordinary retelling of her mother's story in her new book, The Golden Daughter.

Halina will explore the story in an interview with celebrated journalist Anna Maria Tremonti. The interview will be followed by a book sale and signing.

About the Book:
Secret wartime letters, a volatile love triangle, an unmarked grave, a noble heritage—a revelatory mother-daughter memoir about discovery, love, and forgiveness. The Golden Daughter is the gripping story of a mother and daughter shaped by forces they had no control over.

About the Author:
Halina St. James was a journalist for the CBC and CTV, covering revolutions, a war, election campaigns, and three Olympics. Later, she became a performance coach for business and government leaders. Halina lives in Tantallon, Nova Scotia.

About Anna Maria Tremonti:
Anna Maria Tremonti is a long-time journalist who has travelled Canada and the world covering societal change, political upheaval, and armed conflict.  She has worked in radio and television for decades, mostly with the CBC.  She was the founding host of CBC Radio’s flagship current affairs program The Current for 17 years.
