Join us for a special edition of Canada's Storytellers featuring Montreal writer Alice Switocz Goldbloom, author of the award-winning memoir Family Secrets. Part detective story, part memoir, the book follows Goldbloom's search to uncover her parents' hidden wartime experiences in Nazi-occupied Poland. Through personal storytelling and historical research, she brings scholarly history to life while reflecting on family history, immigration, identity, belonging and the lasting impact of the stories we inherit.

About the author
Alice Switocz Goldbloom is a Montreal-based author whose three-decade career spans government and corporate communications, including roles as chief of staff to a federal cabinet minister and partner in a communications and public relations firm. Born in Sarnia, Ontario to Polish immigrant parents and married into a Jewish family, she brings a unique cross-cultural perspective to the complex histories of Nazi-occupied Poland. She serves on the board of the Quebec Writers' Federation and is a member of The Writers' Union of Canada. Family Secrets: A Daughter's Search for Her Parents' Hidden War (Pottersfield Press, 2026) is her first book.
