They were all houses you know, I think it was probably that the community was all in different houses. There were no towers you know? No skyscrapers in that area, I don’t know in that area you know. Yeah so it was seeing people, different people, and different backgrounds right? You’re on the street and there are people walking of different backgrounds not only one. Different Languages were being spoken even and that’s fine, some of them speaking Chinese, Mandarin, Polish, Italian - all the people are here right - Hindi, Punjabi, all languages. It’s not so big a country that nobody’s here, it’s not like that, some people are there.
Biography:
Vijay Kumar Bhosekar was born in Hyderabad, India in 1959. He earned a master’s degree in agricultural science and a PhD focusing in crop science. In India, Vijay worked as a researcher and teacher at a university in Hyderabad.
Vijay started to think about immigrating to Canada after attending an immigration seminar with a few of his friends. Vijay felt that Canada could provide better educational opportunities for his daughter. He got a five year leave of absence from his position at the university and moved to Toronto, Ontario with his wife and daughter in 2005.
Despite having a PhD, Vijay needed to go back to school in order to find work in his field in Canada. Vijay completed a post-graduate certificate in environmental studies at Sheridan College in 2007. He officially left his position at the university in Hyderabad in 2010 and chose to remain in Canada permanently. As of 2012, Vijay was enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Guelph.
