Her husband, Tamas Csanyi, and his parents Jozsef and Julianna Csanyi, arrived in Halifax on board Venezuela on January 5 1957. They were originally from Hungary and escaped to Austria, 1956. They departed from Genoa, Italy on December 24 1956.

Giuseppe Cimello immigrated to Canada from Italy with his parents, Maria Christina and Francesco Cimello, brother, Annibale (Bill), and sister, Antonietta. They arrived at Pier 21 on May 30 1959 on board SS Queen Frederica. They originally settled in Edmonton. Giuseppe joined the navy in 1965 and moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Meri Chilelli’s family arrived in Canada on June 14, 1958. She travelled to Canada with her parents, Antonio and Rosina, and her sister, Rita. They came to join Rosina’s brother, Vincenzo, who had immigrated years earlier.

Maria Scodeller (née Chiarcos) was born in Italy in 1938. She immigrated to Canada (aged 17) with her mother, Lidia Chiarcos (aged 46), and brother, Flaviano Chiarcos (aged 19). They departed from Genoa, Italy on June 29 1956 and arrived at Pier 21 on July 8 1956 on board MS Giulio Cesare. Maria's husband, Amadio Scodeller, also immigrated to Canada from Italy, arriving at Pier 21 on September 23 1951 (aged 20).

Joseph Berkovits was born in Yafo (Tel Aviv), Israel in 1950. He immigrated to Canada with his father, Majer/Mayer Berkovits, mother, Ilanka (née Fischer), and brother, Samuel. They arrived at Pier 21 on November 24 1952 via Naples, Italy on board MS Vulcania.

John Bakolias immigrated to Canada from Italy with his mother, Maria Bakolias, and three brothers, Panagiotis, Anastasios, and Dimitrios. They departed from Piraeus on board SS Queen Frederica on September 26 1957. They arrived at Pier 21 in October 1957.

Teofil Polzin (aged 20) and his brother, Jan (aged 16) were immigrants from Mirosławiec, Poland. They departed from Liverpool, England on June 22 1928 and arrived in Quebec on June 30 1928 on board RMS Andania. They were enroute to their father, Gustav Polzin, in Kipling, Saskatchewan to work as farmers.

Siegfried Mehlitz was born in August 1933 in Berlin, Germany. He was part of a large group of men who signed contracts with the Canadian Government to work on Canadian farms. He arrived in Halifax on board USNS General Harry Taylor on July 18 or 19, 1952 and took the train to Ontario.
