Linda Hasenfratz is CEO of Linamar Corporation, a Guelph based auto-parts company founded by her father, Frank Hasenfratz in 1964, who immigrated to Canada from Hungary in the late 50s. Ms. Hasenfratz joined Linamar in 1990, and worked her way up from the ground floor, experiencing all aspects of the business from running a machine to engineering and operations management. Since her tenure as CEO began in 2002, Ms. Hasenfratz has grown the company from an $800 million enterprise to over a $6.5 billion company.

The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is pleased to welcome Ms. Hasenfratz to our distinguished list of Fascinating Canadian speakers. On March 26, all are invited to join us in Toronto to hear a keynote address from Ms. Hasenfratz, including more of her family’s immigration story and her connection to the important role immigration has had in shaping our country.

Ms. Hasenfratz sits on various boards including CIBC, the Business Council of Canada, Faurecia, Catalyst Canada, as well as philanthropic boards such at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Philanthropy Leadership Cabinet of the Guelph General Hospital. In 2017, Ms. Hasenfratz was appointed by the Prime Minister to co-chair the Canada-United States Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders. Throughout her career she has been honoured through various awards including Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the year in 2018 and in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2014. In May of 2016, Linda Hasenfratz and her father were inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame. She has been honoured by various universities and institutes for her leadership, including the University of Winnipeg, the Fraser Institute, the University of Victoria, Wilfrid Laurier University, Ryerson University, Fanshawe College, and her alma mater, the University of Western Ontario Ivey School of Business. She was also honoured by both France and Hungary for contributions to those countries with their highest civilian honours.
