She was predeceased by her husband Torger in 1974, her parents, August and Ida Hallquist, her sisters Anna, Ester and Martina and brothers Erik, Johan and Karl om Sweden and brothers Nils and Gunnar in Massachusetts, USA. She was also predeceased by one grandchild, Wesley Hannah.

Martha, along with her husband and family, farmed in the Woodlands area of Manitoba from the mid 1930’s until 1975, when she moved to the Swedish Canadian Home for Senior Citizens in Winnipeg. Her family sincerely thank the Nursing Home staff for their tender loving care of our mother in her final years.

Our mother will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking, her sense of humour, and her good management skills and hard work on the farm.

Memorial service will be held on Monday, October 23 at 2 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Pastor Donald Sjoberg will officiate. The service will terminate at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Martha can be made to Holiday Haven Nursing Home, Oak Park Lodge in Woodlands or Swedish Canadian Home for Senior Citizens.
