Born in Estonia Hugo Kurba fled to Sweden during the Second World War. He eventually sailed from there to Canada aboard the Gripsholm arriving on March 12, 1949. In Canada he worked as a miner.

Mr. Kurba donated photocopies of his Swedish alien's passport.
