John Risley’s accomplished entrepreneurial career began with a pick-up truck, determination and a strong vision. Thanks to his passion and drive, Clearwater Seafoods grew to become one of the world’s leading seafood companies. Today, Mr. Risley remains as director and largest shareholder at Clearwater Seafoods and is CEO and Chairman of CFFI Ventures Inc., a diversified holding company operating internationally. Its primary assets are in Clearwater Seafoods and Liberty Global, the world’s biggest international TV and broadband company. CCFI Ventures Inc.’s portfolio encompasses new companies ranging from financial services, renewable energy and the tech sector.

Mr. Risley is active in community affairs, sits on the board of a number of charitable organizations and chairs Futurpreneur Canada. He regularly engages in public policy and is Chairman of the Atlantic Institute of Market Studies. He is a member of the World President’s Organization, the Chief Executives Organization and the Business Council of Canada. Mr. Risley is also a graduate of Harvard University’s President’s Program in Leadership and was named an Officer of the Order of Canada. He is a member of the New York Yacht Club, the Royal Ocean Racing Club and resides in Chester, Nova Scotia.
